Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C in Vancouver

Emergencies do not wait. A coworker collapses at their desk. A child starts choking at the playground. A stranger stops breathing on the SkyTrain. What happens in the next two minutes often determines the outcome.

Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C in Vancouver gives you the hands-on skills to act fast and act right before paramedics arrive. This Canadian Red Cross-certified, one-day course covers the most critical life-threatening emergencies: cardiac arrest, severe bleeding, choking, and sudden illness.

Courses at Primary Care First Aid are taught by active professional firefighters and paramedics, people who have responded to real emergencies. That real-world experience sets this training apart from classroom-only providers in the Lower Mainland.

What You Will Learn

What You Will Learn

This course focuses on real emergencies, the kind that require immediate action. Every skill is practiced hands-on using professional training equipment under instructor guidance.

Scene Safety and Primary Assessment

Before helping anyone, you need to protect yourself. You will learn how to quickly check a scene for hazards, assess an injured or ill person, and call for help using the ABCs of first aid and the DRSABCD action plan.

CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants

Hands-on practice ensures you can perform correct chest compressions and rescue breaths for any age group. You will learn proper compression depth and rate, two-rescuer CPR, and when to switch. A common question we get — can CPR break ribs? We cover that too, along with why effective compressions still take priority.

AED Operation

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are installed in most Vancouver offices, transit stations, schools, and public buildings. You will get hands-on practice with an AED trainer so you know exactly how to use one in a real cardiac arrest. Read our full guide on CPR and AED training.

Choking Response — All Ages

You will practice responding to both conscious and unconscious choking in adults, children, and infants.

Severe Bleeding Control

Learn direct pressure techniques, wound packing, and bandaging to control life-threatening bleeding.

Shock, Sudden Illness, and Breathing Emergencies

You will recognize and respond to signs of shock, fainting, seizures, allergic reactions, and asthma attacks. Read our posts on first aid for asthma attacks and the FAST acronym for stroke to reinforce these skills.
