CPR/AED Level C in Vancouver – Certified Training for Real Emergencies

Someone collapses on the SkyTrain. A child chokes at a Vancouver school. A coworker stops breathing at your Yaletown office. In each of these situations, the first person to act is rarely a paramedic, but it is someone nearby. Someone like you.

CPR alone produces a survival rate of roughly 9%. Add an AED within the first few minutes to increase survival to over 30%. The gap between those two numbers is a trained bystander who knows what to do.

CPR/AED Level C in Vancouver teaches you exactly that. In less than a day, you learn how to perform CPR for adults, children, and infants, and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator confidently during a cardiac emergency.

This is a Canadian Red Cross-certified course delivered by Primary Care First Aid, a Canadian Red Cross Training Provider serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

CPR/AED Level C is built for adults, children, and infants, with full course and recertification options available through blended training.

What You Will Learn

Hands-on skills for real emergencies

This course builds confidence through practical instruction, real-world scenarios, and repetition on professional training equipment.

CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants

You learn how to perform chest compressions and rescue breaths for adults, children, and infants, which is why Level C is the most widely required CPR certification in Canada. You will practice on professional manikins to understand proper technique, including compression depth, rate, and hand position, so you feel confident in real emergencies. Read more about CPR basics for parents, and whether CPR can break ribs — a common concern for new learners.

AED Operation

Using an AED quickly can save a life. Survival rates can exceed 90% within the first minute and 50–70% within 3–5 minutes, but they drop with every delay. In this course, you learn how to turn on the AED, place the pads, follow voice prompts, and deliver a shock safely. AEDs are simple to use, but training helps you act faster and stay calm when every second counts. More on CPR and AED training.

Choking Response

Learn the correct techniques to help a conscious or unconscious choking victim of any age. Responses are different for adults, children, and infants — and knowing the difference is critical. This is a skill that teachers, parents, and childcare workers use most often.

Cardiac Arrest and Medical Emergency Recognition

You learn how to recognize cardiac arrest quickly using the DRSABCD framework, assess an unresponsive victim using the AVPU scale, and manage the scene until paramedics arrive. Based on the ABCs of first aid.

CPR/AED Level C in Vancouver covers the essential response skills most workplaces, schools, recreation centres, and family settings expect.

Why It Matters in Vancouver

Why CPR/AED Level C matters locally

In Vancouver, cardiac arrest most often happens at home (73.4%), followed by public places (16.3%). AEDs are available in locations like SkyTrain stations and Vancouver International Airport, but they only work if someone knows how to use them.

Only 50% of people can locate an AED at work. CPR/AED Level C helps close this gap by teaching you how to respond quickly and use an AED with confidence. It is widely required across Canada and is accepted by WorkSafeBC for workplace safety.

CPR Alone ~9%

CPR + AED 30%+

Adding an AED within the first few minutes can increase survival to over 30%.

Workplace AED Awareness 50%

Only half of people can locate an AED at work, making practical training even more important.
